Common Questions
The questions people ask before reaching out, answered as honestly and unhurriedly as I'd answer them in person. If yours isn't here, send it.
For Curly Clients
Questions from people exploring an appointment at the studio, what a visit looks like, and how to know if it's the right fit.
The private studio is currently by waitlist. Reach out through the contact form and Caroline will let you know where things sit and what's next.
Long, unhurried, one client at a time. We start with a real consultation about your curls, your routine, and what you actually want, not a rushed checklist. Cutting and styling follow, with the time to teach you what's happening as we go.
No. Walking in not knowing is normal, figuring it out together is part of the appointment.
It's one of the most common reasons people end up here. Bring it. We start from where your curls actually are, not where they should have been.
For Stylists & Education
Questions about workshops, group sessions, the Curl Journey Pathway, and bringing Curl Identity education to your team.
It's for stylists who feel unsure when curls sit in their chair, stylists who want to work confidently with curls without pressure to specialise, curl specialists wanting to refine their foundations, and educators who value clarity over complexity.
Not at all. Not every stylist wants to be a curl specialist, but every stylist will work with curls. This education is designed to give you simple foundations, clear language, and confidence that meets you where you are.
Curl Identity Education is delivered as a series of intentional workshops, each building one layer of confidence at a time. You can enter where it makes sense for you, build strong foundations, and grow without overwhelm.
Yes. 1:1 Education is personalised, hands-on curl education for stylists wanting more 1 on 1 confidence and clarity working with textured hair in real salon environments. Reach out through the contact form with a little about where you're at and what you'd like to focus on, and Caroline will reply personally.
Yes, Caroline travels for hosted workshops with salons and groups across Australia. Get in touch with rough numbers and what you're hoping to cover, and we'll work out a format that fits.
Yes, digital education is part of what's coming next at Curl Identity. If you'd like to be the first to know when it launches, get in touch and we'll add you to the early-access list.
Booking & Logistics
The practical questions, how to book, where things happen, and what to expect.
In Mandurah, Western Australia. The exact address is private and shared with you after booking, it's a calm, residential studio rather than a salon on a high street.
Everything is enquiry-based, send a message through the contact form with what you're looking for and Caroline will reply personally, usually the same day.
Life happens. Let us know as far ahead as you can and we'll find another time. Repeated last-minute cancellations may affect future bookings.
No, the studio is by appointment only. It's the only way to keep appointments long, unhurried, and one-at-a-time.
Curly women travel in from across Western Australia, and stylists from further still. If you're flying in for a workshop or appointment, mention it when you reach out and we'll do our best to coordinate timing.
About the Studio
The story behind the practice, and the values that shape every appointment, workshop, and conversation about curls.
Caroline is the founder of Curl Identity. She opened the studio because, as someone with curly hair herself, she couldn't find a stylist locally who really understood her texture. Today she runs the private studio in Mandurah and teaches stylists across Australia.
Curls deserve unhurried attention. One client at a time, a calm room, and real conversation, instead of a busy salon floor, is what made the studio worth opening in the first place.
Both, in that order. The studio is the home base; education grew naturally from the same throughline, making curls make sense, for the people wearing them and the stylists working with them.
Understanding curls and building confidence, for curly women and the stylists who work with them.
