1. Who we are
Curl Identity ("we", "us", "our") is a private curl studio and education practice founded by Caroline Smalley, based in Mandurah, Western Australia. This policy describes how we handle the personal information of visitors to https://curlidentity.com.au and people who get in touch with us about appointments or education.
2. What we collect
When you send us a message through the contact form, you provide your first name, last name, email address, optional phone number, what your enquiry is about, and the content of your message. We only ask for what we need to reply to you properly.
Like most websites, our hosting platform records standard log information (IP address, browser type, the page you visited, the time of the request) for security and operational reasons. This information is not used to identify individual visitors.
We do not currently use website analytics, advertising trackers, or third-party cookies. The site uses Google Fonts and Font Awesome for typography and icons, which may set technical cookies on the third-party domains they're loaded from.
3. How we use your information
We use the information you submit to reply to your enquiry, schedule appointments or workshops if relevant, and follow up where it makes sense (for example, letting you know about a waitlist movement or an upcoming workshop you've expressed interest in).
We do not sell or rent your information to anyone, and we do not send marketing emails unless you've explicitly asked to be added to a list.
5. Storage and security
We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss, unauthorised access, and disclosure. Form submissions and emails are kept in secure systems accessible only to people who need them.
No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. While we do our best, we can't guarantee absolute security.
6. How long we keep it
We keep contact form submissions and email correspondence for as long as is reasonably needed to maintain a relationship with you (for example, ongoing client records). If you'd like us to delete your information, send a message and we'll take care of it.
7. Your rights
Under the Australian Privacy Act 1988 you have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, request that we correct it, and ask for it to be deleted. You also have the right to make a complaint about how we handle your information.
To exercise any of these rights, get in touch using the contact details below. If you're not satisfied with how we've handled a privacy concern, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
8. Cookies
We don't use first-party cookies for tracking. Some cookies may be set by the third-party services we load (Google Fonts, Font Awesome) for technical purposes such as font caching. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, the site will still work, though some visual elements may load more slowly.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of the page tells you when it was last updated. Material changes will be highlighted at the top of this page for a reasonable period.
10. Contact us
If you have a question about this policy or about how we handle your information, send a message via our contact page or email curltime@curlidentity.com.au directly. We'll come back to you personally, usually the same day.
